Gosh, I hate to hear this. When I first started diving I read a book about the divers who first explored the wreck in depth (can't remember the name of the book). I don't have the fortitude for this kind of diving, but I so admire those who do - and love to hear about what they discover.
My first thought was that as a 57 year old female I haven't gotten unwanted attention in a long time, so maybe I can't relate. But then I started to wonder "if the person who has been communicating with the OP was female - but had written exactly the same words - would it have felt like stalking...
You might find a list of 'bad' ingredients and 'good' ingredients if you go to the Stream2Sea website. It sure seems that if we pay a lot of money it SHOULD be ok!!!!
UPDATE: The Stream2Sea worked great! Of course it was super easy to tell if I missed a spot because if anyplace wasn't white it meant I'd missed a spot! I wish there was a true invisible zinc oxide but hey, it protects me while protecting the ocean life so I can do this.
I want to bi*&% and...
Clark, I'll keep you posted. My next dive trip is in September - trying to figure out a way to hit the water locally prior to that though. When the light works, it's nice. It has two settings and a wide beam so it's great for photography. I'm a bit of a minimalist and don't think I'd ever be...
Clark, you are correct - all dry inside.
I traded emails with a SeaLife technician and she confirmed the other info about batteries and recommended XTAR specifically. Hoping this fixes my problem. Thanks for the input!
I have a little SeaLife Sea Dragon Mini 600 LED UW Light, SL982. It has two power levels. When I'm on land it works fine. When I get to depth it will work fine for a couple of minutes and then it turns itself off. My husband thought it was operator error so I shoved it into his hands to let him...
We are about the same size and I love my Zeagle Zena - but I also added a crotch strap. The crotch strap has really made it work fantastic. I turn upside down to take pictures (and to act silly) and I HATE it when my BC rides up around my ears as a result. Once I added the crotch strap it all...
I've had my Cobra3 for 7 years and I've had the guts of it replaced under warranty once - maybe twice (my husband's also had to be fixed). It has crapped out and then started working again without servicing several times. It's just been unreliable. Because I've never felt like I could trust it...
Just an FYI and warning - and hopefully someone will learn from my mistake.
I booked our vacation through Orbitz and entered my husband's last name as his first name (never entered his last name in any way on his reservation - so it read Rogerdean Roger). Duh. Figured it out the day before...
Autumn, thank you so much for the information! I have had 5 Mohs surgeries to remove skin cancer (only basal and squamous, thank goodness) and I cover up with clothing from neck to toe and use the sunscreen on all other unprotected areas. I look like Casper the Friendly ghost in spandex wearing...
Autumn, thanks for personally responding to this thread! I ordered my Stream2Sea sunscreen and decided to go with coconut oil on my hair to protect it from the saltwater. I'd love to use a conditioner but feel like I'm literally washing dollars over the side of the boat putting it in my hair...
I know I'm not directly answering your question - forgive me - but did you try taking the Dramamine the night before AND the morning of your dive? Works like a charm for me. Hope someone else has an answer to your question.
I was wondering about coconut oil. Today I cut about 3-4" off my hair so it's just above the collar line. Shouldn't be too bad for getting tangles out. I'm guessing once the hair is soaked in fresh water and oil it won't absorb any salt water. Easy peasy. Thanks!
Ok, I'm going to get a bundle of hair/body shampoo, sunscreen (30spf) and leave-in conditioner at amazon for $42.85 (in case anyone was wondering about the price point). I've done a lot of reading about how the sunscreen we use is so damaging to the reef, so I'm really glad to see this. I also...
Hello everyone! I think I have a good idea what to look for in a reef friendly sunscreen (it seems that if I look pasty white I should be ok!), but I'm in a bind in terms of hair products. I like to thoroughly soak my hair in fresh water and then apply a liberal amount of conditioner before I go...
We'll be there mid-June and it hadn't occurred to me that it might still be chilly. I'm including a link to a website that shows the water temps by month in Cozumel. If it doesn't work, the site is called SeaTemperature.info .
Sea temperature Cozumel in June. Cozumel sea surface temperature in...
