    Will COZ close it’s borders?

Ignoring everything that was happening elsewhere in the world is one thing, but the WHO actually declared it a pandemic on March 13th I think. You would have to be living under a rock if you didn't realise how serious it was at that point.

    Excessive Ads

I travel with a company computer and yes, I can surf the net and visit Scubaboard, but no, I don't have admin rights to install any software. So it actually is legit......

Dive shop to take for Cathedrals dive.

I've dived Cathedrals with both Lahaina Divers and Extended Horizons. Both are excellent dive ops, but my preference is EH.

    Get your DAN on!!

As Pete has proved, there's a lot more that can happen to you on a dive trip than a DCS hit. A couple years back I almost lost my favorite dive buddy to Immersion Pulmonary Edema on Santa Rosa Wall in Cozumel. Dan covered 100% of the bill for the ambulance, 2 days in ICU, several days in the...

Diving in Bonaire, did it increase you confidence level

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that this learning is not unique to Bonaire, but to any place that offers decent shore diving. Being your own divemaster is the greatest way to learn. Like AdivingBel, the big challenge for us was the "interesting" entries and exits. Of course, for...

Should I get the discontinued Oceanic Geo 2.0 or go for something else?

Just to be fair.....that's actually 25 logs at a 2 second sampling rate. I easily get 50 or more dives on my Geo2 at a 15 second sampling rate.

    Wetsuit for Cozumel in mid-March?

Asking what to wear for thermal protection is like asking "how long is a rope?". We just returned yesterday from Coz. I dove with a full 3 mil suit and Thermocline hooded vest. Diving steel 120's and froze the second dive every day. My son / dive buddy wore a rash guard and bathing suit for the...

    Wearing your BP/W on Airplane

It's not uncommon to see people leaving Cozumel wearing a BCD on the plane. Usually when they forget that their wet gear weighs more than dry gear.

Credentials to become a DAN Doctor?

On a separate post, there is a discussion concerning the need for a medical clearance to dive in some countries, particularly if one is over 40. How does a person get that done, particularly if living in the Great White North? I'm struggling to find a doctor within 7 hours drive that knows...

Man dies aboard Cozumel catamaran excursion

Without trying to derail this thread.....are there dive ops in Coz that use catamarans? Don't remember seeing any out deep. Snorkeling perhaps?

Couple detained in Cozumel until chamber bill paid

Funny thing....I have no idea. When I say DAN covered it all, they did it without me being involved at all. It was several days in hospital, half of that in ICU, plus the in-house doctors, and outside heart specialist.

Couple detained in Cozumel until chamber bill paid

My wife experienced an immersion pulmonary edema last year in Coz. Expenses were 100% covered by DAN. I figure that pretty much pays me back for the 8 years of premiums....with great interest. Everyone has to decide for themselves what risks they are willing to take. Make sure you choose wisely.

    SAC Rate Changes with Depth

I'm gonna go with RMV being Respiratory Minute Volume which by default means it's cubic ft or litres consumed per minute....yes? The two acronyms seem to be used interchangeably, but I'm thinking we're talking about RMV here .
