    Supporting and Sponsoring Member Issues

I have been a ScubaBoard supporter since the inception of the program almost 10 years ago. My badge has dropped off, yet my auto pay still goes thru. Can we get this fixed?

Anyone with diving experience from Greg's Wall, Radama Archipelago, Madagascar?

All the videos I see of diving in Madagascar, specifically off of Nosy Be seem to have low visability. Any feedback on what it is like in Oct/Nov. I am planning a trip there this year at that time.

BVI - Jost Van Dyke Diving

It has been years since Jost Van Dyke was mentioned in any thread. Are there any dive shops beside Jost Van Dyke Scuba on the island? Are there any shops that will come over from Tortola or private boaters? If you have dove around JVD, I would love to hear about your experiences, thanks!

Rain/Viz in May for Similan Islands via liveaboard… bad idea?

We spent a lot of time visiting several jungle lodges, exploring caves, and doing land excursions the last time we were in Borneo. This time we’re planning on only diving. I cannot enter Indonesia, but it’s my very favorite place to go diving. So I’m hoping the west coast of Malaysia will be...

Rain/Viz in May for Similan Islands via liveaboard… bad idea?

I totally understand it is a crapshoot on what the weather will be like. The question I am asking is, when it rains does it affect the visibility there? I don’t actually care if it’s rough or raining, I just want to know if visibility is cloudy when it rains in that area. Thx!

Rain/Viz in May for Similan Islands via liveaboard… bad idea?

Yes that is correct it closes on the 15th. I was looking at a trip from the 11th to the 15th. Malaysia not Indonesia. I said western side, but I meant the eastern side, specifically over in Sipidan! However I’ve heard of some lovely diving off of Kota Kinbala too.

Rain/Viz in May for Similan Islands via liveaboard… bad idea?

We were looking to go back to Northern Borneo and I happen to see flights from KUL to Phuket were crazy cheap. So I thought hey, why repeat northern Borneo, why not go to Thailand and see Phuket, the surrounding islands, and do some diving there! So I started doing research; the more research I...

    Panama Silky Sharks

I have read May is a great time to see Silky Sharks in The Pearl Island area of Panama. Does anyone know anything about this? I have tried emailing, messaging, FB group questions, and NO ONE responds… If you have no clue, can you point me in a direction to someone who might? Thanks for any...

14 days to dive wherever you want!

Fun story! I can totally visualize it! When I was hooked in at the Blue Corner in Palau, the local Napoleon wrasse decided to get amorous with me. It was pretty funny! I have some good pics and video of him, lol! Thanks everyone for all the input and thoughts, appreciate it!

14 days to dive wherever you want!

14 days wherever you want in the Maldives! This is the Maldives forum :eyebrow: I did respond to one of your posts in another forum about liveaboard vs island diving in Palau - I have done both and posted my thoughts for you ... check them out! Enjoy!

14 days to dive wherever you want!

I'm gathering information, of course the captain has final say, and certainly we will follow their lead. But they did put it out to me, and since I think there are a lot experienced and well-traveled divers here, I wanted to hear what other had to say too. 'Someone' told me the charter boats...

Ok, thanks for this info! Have you also dove the north/far north? I'm just wondering if you have a comparison?

14 days to dive wherever you want!

Well that is a concerning comment. Are you stating there are no colorful reefs like the South Pacific area? Because there are no reefs, or because of reef damage? When was the last time you dove there, I'm hoping things have changed if its due to bleaching.

14 days to dive wherever you want!

Why? What specifically is so much better in the south than the north? From what I have read there are a lot of large pelagics in the north and there’s hardly any people. We will be there in May, so I’m not sure if weather should be factored in. But why is the south such an absolute for you?

14 days to dive wherever you want!

I’m excited to visit the Maldives for the first time. We are going the first three weeks of May this year. I’ve been reading up on the north and south atolls, but still much more research has to be done. We have 14 days to go where ever we want on a private liveaboard. Obviously the captain/dive...

    Over Reef Liveaboard, Maldives

I have read the recount, as well as the tumultuous Scubaboard thread about it. I am going to assume the government has improved their Q facilities since this happened. Insurance is a must for us. I'll look forward to your recount if you end up in quarantine. Enjoy your trip!

    Over Reef Liveaboard, Maldives

I know it will be better than Palau, that trip taught me to ask some questions before booking, ie how long since the boat has been in dry dock. It was due in the week after us ... and long overdue! Thank you for your opinions, hearing other’s thoughts is always helpful!

    Over Reef Liveaboard, Maldives

I went on a liveaboard in Palau and the boat, despite being hailed as luxury, was in poor shape and INFESTED with roaches. Several meals I saw a roach on my fork as I was bringing the food to my mouth! Everywhere we dove we had already dove at with PPR, we could have had a top level room at PPR...
