Adjusting a housing lever yourself, possible? (Nauticam NA-D7000V)

Hi Bill, Here is a pic showing the AE/L lever and there is no grub screw on the lever. There is a threaded hole in the shaft that the lever passes through but there is no grub screw in this hole. Do you know if there is supposed to be one? The lever moves freely from side to side however I...

Adjusting a housing lever yourself, possible? (Nauticam NA-D7000V)

Hi Bill, Thanks for the reply. I have looked on the shaft and haven't seen any setscrew! When I get home I will have a closer look at it and take a photo. If I had of seen a set screw I would have known what to do automatically. I was an avionics engineer as a kid so have worked on very...

Adjusting a housing lever yourself, possible? (Nauticam NA-D7000V)

Hello everyone, I have a NA-D7000V housing and recently noticed that the AE/L AF/L button on the housing does not fully depress the button on the camera. I can see that the lever starts to depress the button on the camera but it then hits the camera body and does not depress the button any...

My DIY Snoot for INON Z-240

Hello everyone, This is a work in progress but I think it's looking good so far. Obviously I will be blackening the base plate to stop the light from the strobe and having it just coming through the fibre optic arms. Will update with the progress. Regards,

Used my GoPro to capture a "worlds first" Sydney's Pygmy Pipehorses mating!

Hi people, Just thought I would share my videos of a pair of Sydney Pygmy Pipehorses mating. Now the videos aren't great as they were handheld but needed to be as the Pipehorses swim up into the water column whilst mating. Here is the link to the Australian Museum Blog post containing my...

GoPro HD Hero 3 black with Subsee +10 diopter

I had the same problems with auto white balance. I only shoot raw now and adjust the colour if necessary in post. Just remember that when shooting in raw that you film something white like a tank or a dive slate at the beginning so when you are doing the post you can set the white balance using...

GoPro HD Hero 3 black with Subsee +10 diopter

The Subsee +10 is some quality glass, it's very heavy and is about 5-6cm long. Again the working distance was an estimate so I am planing on taking a ruler down to accurately measure it. From memory the gopro was set to narrow.

GoPro HD Hero 3 black with Subsee +10 diopter

Thanks hellhole I've seen that before. Great video in the pool but in rough conditions it can be a real battle haha Mike I was as close as 4-5cm away but the very first part of the video I was too close as it was blurry. I am guessing if I add the 167 it would let me get even closer and still...

GoPro HD Hero 3 black with Subsee +10 diopter

Hello everyone, Just thought I would share my experiences so far using the gopro with a diopter for macro shooting. I tried Subsee's +10 diopter on the gopro today at Bare Island in very low vis and lots of surge. Used a Princeton Tech LED torch as I didn't have a video light. The diopter...

Any special preliminary checks on new housing?

Prior to entering the water the leak detector was going off. I had put it together in the morning at home and had it covered under a towel the whole time. I was at the dive site within a couple of hours. I made an educated guess that it was faulty and removed the battery. Tested all the buttons...

Any special preliminary checks on new housing?

Hello everyone, I recently purchased a brand new Nauticam NA-D7000V housing and wondered if there were any special preliminary checks that people conduct on a brand new housing prior to the first dive? My first dive will obviously be just the housing. I previously owned a Sea & Sea housing for...
