Just out of curiosity, how often do divers get sea itch? I'm going to be diving with Ocean Frontiers mid-April, so this concerns me.

I'd recommend the Kona Coast of the Big Island. If you're looking for big animals, IMHO the manta ray night dive there simply can't be beat http://www.jacksdivinglocker.com/charters2/mantanight.htm. Some people reported seeing hammerheads off the Big Island also, but I wouldn't count on it...

I heard that the manta sightings come and go in cycles. The one time I was there (early July 2004) there were seven mantas one night and six the other. A week before, Jack's Diving Locker recorded an all-time record of 21.
