I have the set-up you are talking about a GT3 with SPG and Alpha 8 octopus. Mine is configured for DIN and I am very satisfied with this reg. I dove the Oriskany with it. The reg alone runs about $300 new. AL

With those depth limitations and a Jr. Openwater diver I'd definitely hit the shallow reefs in Key Largo. Conch Republic and HMS Minnow are great recommendations.
