Ascent To Altitude From Santa Rosa

I agree completely. No such thing. However, the idea of being as close to pressure group A after a dive would translate as "clean".... I think Bubba likes to use copious amounts of O2 to speed that process up.. :)

Ascent To Altitude From Santa Rosa

It' continues to be a concern (nearly 100 times) since my very first Blue Hole trip in 1982. Cabin pressure in a commercial aircraft is regulated at the equivalent 4k - 7k feet. Comparatively, when we surface from a dive at 4300' elevation, it is the equivalent of instantaneously "flying after...

    Aurora Res relatively outstanding

Just finished a few dives at Aurora. Sunny and calm. No other divers at all. 20' vis. No green algae. 53° at the plane. Grilled a nice picnic lunch. All together great day of diving! I hope to see some of you Oysters, that I haven't seen for awhile!

TSandM: Missing Diver in Clallam County, WA

Like all of you, it is so difficult to wrap my head around this. Without wild speculation, just based on what we know, maybe we can think this through. Peter's post about facts said that when they leveled out and regained control, Lynne was 10'-15' below him. They ascended and she was 10'-15'...

    TSandM -- Lynne Flaherty

Peter, You and Lynne have been inspirational to me for the last 11 years. You have both positively influenced a generation of divers, both here and well beyond the Internet. Please find some strength and peace in the knowledge that you both have our tremendous support, admiration and respect...

    Bonaire - airfare and options

Last year, the prices for flights to Bonaire did the same thing. Started low, went waaaay up to around $1100, then at the end of April/early May dropped down to around $500. Don't know what they will do this year though?

Buddy Wanted - Santa Rosa Blue Hole 5/1/15 or 5/2/15

We will have a group at Blue Hole May 2-3. We will drive down early on the 2nd and prepare for our first dive at around 12:30pm. If you are still around and looking for a buddy, stop by and introduce yourself. I'll be teaching, but we have a few people traveling with us just to do a few dives...

    Looking for Advice on BP/W

Our company teaches new students exclusively in BP/W rigs. We have 14 complete setups in the rental fleet. 12 are continuous webbing DIR setup. 2 have the "comfy harnesses." The comfy harnesses are sloppy and ill fitting. Non of our Instructors or DMs reach for the comfy harness unless we...

    Cool Drysuit Opportunity

Every time I go to Blue Hole, especially in December, I've spoken with people about diving dry. I met one guy who brought 3 7mm suits and wore a new one for each dive. The reasons people weren't diving dry was time and money. My business partner and I decided to address that issue! If anyone has...

Opinions on Liquivision Lynx and Mares Icon HD Air

I've used the LYNX for 2 years now. Here are some thoughts: Likes: Incredibly reliable ultrasonic transmitter. 100 meter range Reliably read buddy's gas pressure. Can read pressure for 9 divers. Tapping to navigate screens, functions and settings. No buttons Readability and clarity of screen...

    Non-traditional drysuit undergarments

The key is that the undergarment material wicks moisture away from your body, and also maintains insulationg qualities while wet. Your local army surplus store will have great stuff at cheap prices!

Scuba diver dies after being found floating at Kurnell, NSW, Australia

Interesting query by Quero. http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/aqua-lung/423981-zuma-trim-weight-pockets.html This hints at the fact she was used to diving overweighted while being sensitive to her trim and balance. The analysis in this thread paints a clearish picture as to the likely chain of...

Scuba diver dies after being found floating at Kurnell, NSW, Australia

Quero's profile says she dives an Aqualung Zuma for travel and tropics. If so, it is a lightweight, back inflate, weight integrated BCD. If I recall correctly, it has 35lbs of lift. It also has inherent positive buoyancy. If the weight estimate of 26 lbs is the total weight of lead and steel...

    What constitutes a dive?

A dive should be planned and then executed. You determine where the dive will take place, the depth, the time, the exposure protection, the goal, the surface interval. A repetitive dive can be achieved without getting out of the water or swapping a tank, if back gas allows and a surface...
