I agree that there is no need for all the padding and extra buoyancy. I bought the Halcyon Infinity rig and removed the integrated weight pockets, back padding and shoulder padding. Alternatively you can buy the standard rig and add the cinch system.

I would because my shoulder flexibility is pretty limited. Others have no trouble at all.

I haven't taken the class, but every dive with my instructor is a peak performance buoyancy dive. I think the class can definitely help most people though. It's amazing how much easier diving is once you get your buoyancy correct.

Fixed that for you :D. Teaching your kids that they can debate and disagree with an instructor/coach is a negative for them later in life. If the instructor/coach is doing something to put them at risk, you should remove them immediately. Otherwise, it's zip it and listen. :popcorn:

You are spot on. I spent a little more on my singles rig and regs. Probably around $2k or so, and that's with a Halcyon BP/W, Worthington HP100 steel tanks, and Zeagle Flathead/Z regs. So for doubles I need bands, a manifold, and a new wing. So that's about $800 more. A second set of tanks...
