Unlike Freewillow and some others, as a recreational diver I would not buy a petrel because of it's lack of AI. I am interested in the H3 but will wait until the AI feature is available. My first computer was not AI and I ended up trading of for one that has AI.
I never had the pleasure of meeting Lynne. She offered information to questions I had, a couple of times directly and thousands of times indirectly by her excellent posts. I still have hopes of her safe return. Positive thoughts and prayers are on my mind.
The support offered by Macdive is pretty good. email them. Usually you will hear back in a couple of hours. It's probably something very simple. I had a small problem and it was fixed quickly by emailing them.
I have stayed at Hotel Cozumel and gone out with Dive Paradise a few times. I have also rented a condo at ElCantil and used Blue XT Sea. Of course I enjoyed the El Cantil and Blue XT Sea combination the most. However, if given a chance to go I wouldn't turn down either choice depending on how...
Yep, AKR. 3 dives a day and 2 night dives. Been there 4 times with a group, I always enjoyed it. Mixed level groups don't bother me. I still enjoy the dive. We always got to dive our tanks while we were there. They always asked if there was someplace we wanted to go. They run the cruise...
I liked Anthony's Key.
Not much for drift diving but plenty of opportunity for photography.
There is a new liveaboard for diving the Bay Islands. I don't have any experience with it and I haven't heard anything.
Bay Island Yacht Charters - Caribbean Pearl II
I haven't stayed at Sunset House for about 3 or so years. However, I recall that there is and area off of the restaurant over looking the ocean. It is fairly large. The group I was with had dinner out there one evening.
I am surprised a person would get to 35' without looking at their computer. Not saying it wouldn't happen(see above), I have a datamask, I check my pressure just before splashing along with placing my hand on my mask and regulator as I was taught in OW. Much to my dismay, I once forgot my...
We learned those basics in OW class. The shop I use has seminars that are free that teach a little bit more. They teach how to disassemble and clean the dump valves on the BC, how to re-thread a tank strap and a couple of other minor things. Of course they also go over some of the tools and...
Your choice. However, if I lose my method of measuring my tank pressure, I am going to end the dive. You may think differently and that is your decision. On a recreational dive, such as I do, I would surface and resolve the issue before diving again.
