    Misstopsail's Travels

Hey mts. Columbia is only about 2.5 hrs from Myrtle, so if you want to hang out with some of us at the LDS come on down. We also have dive club meetings monthly if you'd like to participate. Just let me know. David

    Dive booties

I was told that Henderson is discontinuing their size 14 hard sole, 3 mm dive bootie. That was the only boot to date that I've found that fits well and is comfortable. Any ideas on who makes larger, hard sole boots. Thanks, David

    Computers: Watch vs Console?

Also keep in mind if you want to be able to download your dives onto your home computer. The Gekko doesn't have this feature.

    Manatee tour advice

I've been on alot of these trips and agree that Kings Spring and Three Sisters are hot spots for manatees. This also makes them hot spots for snorkelers, so if you want your best chance of an encounter, I'd suggest getting out as early as you can. And the colder the outside temps are, the...

Suunto Dive Manager - SAC calculation with cu ft

I've got the same setup, but with no problems. Did you set up a default cylinder, and are the units you're using consistent throughout? Also, the cuft rating is for the volume of air at the working pressure, whereas the liter rating is simply the volume of the tank itself.

The most irritating game in existence

That's one of my favorite games. But it does kill me to get down to 2 squares and no way to logically pick one, just pure, dumb luck and guess.

    unsubscribing to threads

I looked and didn't see anything that would help. It appears that if I have the box checked to receive email notifications, and don't want them for one particular thread, then I have to disable this feature each time I post to that thread.

    unsubscribing to threads

My default settings are to receive an email telling me that someone has replied to a thread I posted on. Occassionally I'll post down below in the MOF thread, which is fine until I get dozens of emails telling me that someone else has posted. I tried turning this option off for that particular...

    What would you do?

With no students around I would have probably have bit my tongue and just gave one of those looks, you know the one that says you're being an @#$hole without actually saying it. With students, probably would have had a little huddle explaining what you said, that viz is usually good, not worry...

Atomic split fins - how do the sizes run?

The wife wears an 8.5. With a 3mm bootie a medium sized fin works for her. I didn't know they made pink, it's not even on their website.

    Diving deep and cold

Thanks for the clarification. I typically dive a 130 in a full wet suit and have never had a problem. I was curious if I was exposing myself to additional hazards I hadn't previously thought of. Makes more sense now.
