    Sorry another tipping question

A group of us from the UK have booked a whole boat liveaboard for October 2007, we paid our initial deposit of £250 last October and due to pay a further £500 this October. Our tour operator has just been informed by the boat operator of the following The owners have decided to impose this...

    'Sal Sabiel' liveaboard

I am not sure I would book "a really cheap" liveaboard but then again your idea of cheap and mine might be different. I also haven't heard of the boat and if the owners arguing about a domain name not sure I would want to book either.

    OMS bcd questions

There is absolutely no problem with bungied wings, I have been diving my OMS bungied wing for 8 years and never once had any of the issues people claim you will. They are neat and tidy and you don't get all that tank wrap / flapping about you get from unbungied wings. As for the IQ pack...

    Air Consumption

I don't understand PSI but a 55min dive so early on in your diving experience doesn't sound too bad to me. My advise would be don't worry about it, it all comes with experience. I have found that it doesn't matter which forum I log on to lots of people seem to be preoccupied with breathing...

    Fashion tips and Faux Pas

I dive with two guys who wear the devil hoods from Scapascuba, they are great guys and the hoods are always a talking point. This thread has starting to worry me, Black/blue suit, yellow fins, back wing sound familiar :D

    Sudan recommendations?

If you want to do the Sudan take a look at www.scuba.co.uk Tony Backhurst has a very good reputation and has most of the better boats on his books. Royal Emporer has moved down to the Sudan area after her refit. We were in the Redsea in September and there were a group of Dutch people on the...

    Travel insurance

As your in the UK take a look at www.buddyindepth.co.uk and Westfield, I can't find the link at the moment but they are very popular. Also there is www.dive-master.net. My kit is insured with Dive Master but I tend to use Buddyindepth for travel. http://www.divernet.com/westfield/about.htm

    Nitrox on OW Cert Dives?

I am firmly in the camp of teaching nitrox as soon as possible, BSAC will be introducing nitrox in to their Ocean diver course very soon. As for task loading of students I don't see a problem with pumping all trainees tanks with 32% which is good to 30m a depth they shouldn't be at anyway...

    OMS transpack

I have only used an Ali BP with my IQ packs, which is great if you want to use in on holiday, although you can leave the BP out of you use a single tank adapter.
