Saturday afternoon vis about 150m offshore from the Monterey Plaza Hotel in 30' of water was 5-10. Got temps of 52-53 degrees. Minimal surge.

To clarify I didn't mean repairing a torn seal, I meant replacing the seal with a new one. I'll look into the Sitech replaceables, but with new seals I think I'll give it a go and take a backup and some duct tape. The trip is to Alaska so I'd prefer a drysuit.

I'm not in the dive business, but while I was at a conference in Monterey a few weeks ago I saw that the Seven Seas Scuba location in Monterey has closed. I have since learned that a new dive shop has opened in the same location, BreakWater Scuba, just across from San Carlos beach park.

Ah yes, my own fault for not clicking foward to see the salon, but I didn't see anything in the bunk room. Definitely not looking for luxury, just serviceable, safe, and friendly. I'm doing a day trip in June, and was planning on sleeping over the night before.

Can anyone point me to photos of the interior of the Peace dive boat, eg the salon and the bunk room? I am planning a trip aboard this summer, but wanted to know what to expect of the interior, and more particularly, of where I will be sleeping. Thanks.

My glove is a Showa 495, very similar to the 660. Thanks for the size link. I'm looking to dive down to about 40 on some future trips. My coldest dives in the bay area have been into the mid 40's, wet.

Thanks for the reply. I've got the Si-tech rings and the blue PVC gloves. With the liner on underneath, my fingers are pretty stiff from the compression hence the question. I'd rather not go up a size in the outer gloves because the fingers will be too long. Any idea as to how low a temp one...

I'm just getting my first drysuit kit together and wanted advice as to sizing of drysuit gloves. The fourth element G1 liner fits me perfectly in medium. It is a tight fit wearing them and the blue Atlas type drygloves in medium. Should the drysuit glove fit pretty snugly over the liner, or...

Could anyone comment on how the bulk of the Halo compares to the Santi BZ400? 4th Element says the foam inserts on the Halo keep the thickness at 8mm even in compression. I guess that sounds thick to my inexperienced ear. My first drysuit is on order!

Just returned from the trip, it was a straight there straight back affair with only one night in Cairns inbound in case my luggage failed to keep up. Quite the adventure, if I can get some time to put it all together, I'll post a trip report in the coming weeks.
