    wetsuit repair

How do you repair your wetsuit? I'm planning to stitch openings in my socks/gloves/wetsuit, but I need to apply something on the stitched area to make it waterproof. Does aquaseal work? Or do you use any other cheap solutions?

    halcyon wing on DSS rig

To be able to work at my LDS, I need to replace my DSS wing with a Halcyon wing. I'm using an STA'less single tank DSS rig. Has anybody had any experiences with mounting a Halcyon wing on this setup? I know I will need an STA. But I need to know how this will hold up, and if it'll be as...

Rec open water ascents, trim and the team

I'm taking GUE DIRF, but haven't finished all of the dives yet. I was able to meet couple people, but they don't dive often. I dive pretty much every Saturday and try to do a night dive during the week too. I'll try dive matrix. Thanks for the invitation... I might come up to Seattle sometime! :-)

Rec open water ascents, trim and the team

Thanks for the feedback. I will definitely look into the dive matrix forum. (I had difficulty finding regular teammates so far because most of the DIR folks are pretty experienced around here and they are doing dives beyond my training/experience. I've only 80 single tank dives and started...

Rec open water ascents, trim and the team

For recreational open water diving, during the ascents especially at the last 10 ft, it's hard for me to see where I am ascending to since I'm horizontal. The real problem is my teammates do not follow DIR at this point and they prefer to become vertical and pop up to the surface. If my team...

    Warm Up During An SI?

Bring a rash guard or another 1-3mm suit for the second dive. Wear it under the wet wetsuit for the second dive to ease the pain. :-)

    MK25 S600 breathing hard

Thanks everybody. I will get these regs serviced and see how this goes...

    MK25 S600 breathing hard

Yes, I kept it in lowest perf and it breathed much better than it does today with max perf setting. (This is my first reg, so I didn't know which setting to use it really. Scubapro manual recommends a low performance setting to minimize freeflows and to turn out the knob if the perf is not...

    MK25 S600 breathing hard

Thanks everybody. So, changing the LP seats should fix this issue. How expensive are the LP seats? (I think parts are covered in my warranty, but I wanted to ask anyway...) The reg is not that bad at the moment. I dive with it regularly. I just got used to it's excellent performance.

    MK25 S600 breathing hard

So, the question is with same config one of the regs breathes much better. And in the past, I stored/used the reg in question with resistance knob all the way in (lowest perf), what do I do now? The reg used to breathe excellent before...

    MK25 S600 breathing hard

When testing these regs at surface and also at 20-30 ft; 2 regs both their resistance knob all the way out (best performance). One of them breathes much easier than the other one. (The hard breather one is the one which was previously stored with resistance knob all the way in.) Both has...

    MK25 S600 breathing hard

OK, I remember it wrong. Here's the updated story; I kept my reg turned down/dialed down (lowest performance) at all times during the dives and storage. Now it's breathing hard even if a turn it on to max performance. What do I do now if the LP seat took a set as you described? If it took a...

    MK25 S600 breathing hard

I have a new single tank setup of scubapro mk25 and 2 x S600's. I've been pretty happy with the performance so far (about 70 dives). Recently I have realized that my primary second stage was breathing hard and took it to my LDS. They said first stage was close to being serviced and serviced it...

3 Out of 8 tests down!

I agree, don't use one of those $30-40 snorkels with useless features. Looks like most of these are smaller in diameter than good old snorkels. Get a cheap freediving snorkel that can deliver good volume of air.

    Wrist Computer vs Console

Wrist mount on the right wrist, but with bungee cords. Compass on the left wrist with bungee cords.

    Bungee with Cressi Edy

I managed to get the bungee cords installed on the Edy. Although I'm not very thrilled about this solution, it's still better than the original wrist strap since now if one of the pins break, then the other pin is able to keep the computer on my wrist...

    Bungee with Cressi Edy

Well, the problem is that Edy is very small. So those pins can take fishing line or thin wire, but not the bungee. Edy is exactly like a wrist watch with standard wrist watch pins to attach the straps. The pin holes are 1mm.
