Heavy sigh....just one well placed NIMBY/NIMAS can cause so much trouble with a fear campaign. It seems every neighborhood has one...the unofficial mayor that everyone is afraid of that uses others to further their own selfish interests. Pure speculation on my part...JMO.
As most of you...
Yup...that was a good one wasn't it. Kinda makes you shake your head about some folks.
Here is another good marine related one:

Just saw my first mantis shrimp while diving Lady Elliot Island on the GBR. I had heard stories that they are wildly powerful and can break the glass of aquariums or the lenses or domes of underwater cameras when cornered. Whilst snooping around to find out more about them I came across this...

In Feb 2009 my wife and I dived with Dive Makai and Sandwich Isle Divers. Both were very good; the latter takes a max of 6 divers.
We had a great time and would certainly dive with both again.
Enjoy!
Rhone,
My wife and I recently enjoyed a great week of diving there. We found it very easy to rent equipment and dive wherever the access allowed. This site is a good start to finding dive sites:

Hello Lowermainlanders,
My wife and I will be in Van Apr 20-25 and we will be doing some diving in the area. It will be her first time in these waters so we will probably start out with a day out at Porteau but we are hoping we can hook up with some of you guys and girls at some of your...
It looks to me like this reg was very unused and was never opened...the case has almost no scratches...there were no tool marks on the clips etc. After removing the label I realized that it probably could have stayed in place because the can needs almost no cleaning. Sigh...wish I would have...
Thanks N. After I dug a little deeper at the VDH site I did find his manuals for sale and I have them in my shopping cart....now to proceed to checkout.;)
Thanx Pete. I only saw the "Free Stuff" section after I had made the order for the RAM but Bryan was kind enough to throw in a good stack of stickers anyway.

Also, I have been reading as much as possible on the VDH forum and I should start...
A slight typo in one of my previous posts...I actually ordered a Royal Aquamaster, not a DA Aquamaster from Bryan at VDH. It arrived yesterday, it is a beauty and is ready to dive:
This one (from ebay)....not so much:
But it does work, I find, after attaching to a tank. Now on to...
