when my fiancee was going for her OW cert dives she started to get sick a few days before. With plenty of fluid, rest and vitamins she was healthy by the time of the dives. So maybe your instructor can be flexible that if you are ok you will go but if not hold off until you aren't sick...

Vitamin C & ecinecia (spelling?) lots of fluids (OJ, water) plenty of rest good luck!

thanks for the tips... we would be going out with a DM for sure, and that doesn't sound like it's too bad as far as surface swim is concerned (we're both good swimmers but I don't know how bad the current can be in Hawaii) We'll be staying at the Princeville (Kauai) and Four Seasons (Maui)...

2 part question. Will my LDS rent me gear (BCD, octo, tank) for me to go to a friend's pool and practice breathing so I don't hoover too much since my fiancee (and dive buddy) is half my size and always has more air in the tank when I need to surface? Should I tell them it's for pool use...
