Yeah, I can see that... let me try to help you getting it back on its feet again then. :P No tropics for me this summer in Europe. Will probably be warm enough though. I'm gonna go camping. Not very far... south of the country. Diving provence Zeeland. So super close to all the dive sites...

    Learning Ascent Rate

it's not about the smallest bubbles I think... I think it's about one of thé smallest... Maybe third largest (which are smaller than they sound). Hmm... try that. Anyway, I just use my watch. 10m/min.

    My Apologies

Hm... I'd like to say I participated in those polls as well. But I'm not really sure. So, without trying to offence any other people, :P could you tell me what they were about again? And btw, if I think it were the polls I did participate in, I have no idea what was wrong with them.

    Hello from Japan!

Hey Nori, sounds like you know the Tokyo-Yokohama area. I'm heading for Tokyo in August. I'd really like to do some diving. But just a handfull, I won't take my gear with me, so they have to be rentals And yeah, I can back you and HakoFugu up on the price matter. It's unbelievable. And not...

Where was your first OW dive?

my very first OW dive was in The Netherlands. Next to Dreischor Gemaal, Loswal. I bet some of you know it. It's a nice place for night diving, and very very suitable for beginners. The thing is, it doesn't get much deeper than oh say... 3 meters. If you wanna go deeper, you'd have to swim pretty...

    It happened to me...

Hmm... haven't you ever heard of a buddy line? Sounds like the viz wasn't too good. And I realize you probably need your freedom while you're shooting, but those lines don't just come in a foot in length.

10 april: want to get wet?

I hope I can make it. But as you know... I don't have my own transportation. Hope we can still figure something out. Maybe somebody from more up north can pick me up on his way down. :P As for the watertemperature, I always experienced it to be around 50 F (8 - 10 C). Visibility is ok. About 3...

Whats the coldest you ever dove wet

I think mine was about 40 to 45 degrees. I was wearing a 7mm wet. But I don't have too much body fat to protect me :P, so the cold kinda got to me after 25 minutes or so. Started to develop a major headache. The air temp wasn't all that warm either, but it was quite sunny, so I took it easy...

Hey all, somebody made me really confused the other day. Telling me that oxygen does NOT turn toxic at a pressure of 1,7 bar. I've always learned that it does... so what's the poop? Ramon

    Newbie wetsuit question

You said it! Diving in a 7 mm myself (one piece) and sometimes dive in water of 6 to 9 degrees. It really makes you appreciate the warm tropical water, the 'few' moments you're diving in such waters... Maybe it's an advantage even. If you're used to diving in cold water, then warm water...

    0 viz?

"Gary, your stories just keep getting better and better. LOL Funny thing is I think you're serious. " LOL! Een beetje Nederlandse bijdehandheid kan nooit kwaad natuurlijk. Ok, so now I've seen numerous posts and plenty of ppl have experienced 0 viz. Then I wonder... what the hell are you...

    Newbie wetsuit question

You said 75 degrees. That's warm enough. For you I would surely suggest a 5 mm wetsuit. It's not cold at all. But mostly 12 year olds don't have too much fat on their bones, so he MIGHT feel a bit chilly. I'd consider a 7 mm for him. And as you said... your son is still growing. So for now...

Yeah, but still... their total would reach a couple thousand anyway I think... It's a dive if you've been under for at least 20 minutes I've been told, btw.
