    Mystery Regulator

Let me put and end to your suspicions because ...well, it's not going to be pretty. I looked over the hose end and where I first thought that it was cut, I've now changed my mind. The hose, as it sits, measures 26 3/4 inches end to end (including the one brass fitting-second stage end)...

    Mystery Regulator

Found this attached to a cut hose rolling around the bottom. I've no idea why a second stage would be cut free ??? I've searched many pages of brand logos but can't find this one. I'm sure some one here will provide the answer.

    Nitrox Analyzer

If people are still interested...I received the Sensorcon unit today and tried it out on a few tanks that I filled with my MCH6 (gas powered) and a few from my LDS that used a MCH13 (220V). I used the plastic bag method and received either a "zero" reading or a reading that bounced between Zero...

    Nitrox Analyzer

Isn't that what Hopcalite is for....to remove CO? And your example of the car idling is exactly what I'm talking about...so I guess we're on the same page.

    Nitrox Analyzer

While we're on the topic.... I attended the DAN seminar at DEMA regarding Quality Assurance of Breathing Gases and carbon monoxide became a little bit more interesting to me. The presenter was Francois Burman who mentioned Nitrox blending using a membrane system which takes air and removes the...

    Nitrox Analyzer

I thought that I'd add my 2cents regarding Carbon monoxide testers as I just spoke with a sales rep for "Sensorcon". Made in the USA and it's waterproof. Their unit was not really designed for the SCUBA crowd but they have been receiving many inquiries from us. They said the unit could be used...

Where did you solo dive today?

Just got back from 4 solo dives in Lake Tahoe. I managed to find the Alley Cat, a sunken 26' sailboat in Hurricane Bay....turned out it was a VERY easy dive. 70 ft of water 57f. temps. Viz was about 25ft. which is a little murky for Tahoe.

    San Diego Charter Boat Recommendations

Hello, I'm researching a dive trip for 6-8 to wreck alley and looking for a review or two of the San Diego boats. So far, I've come up with Waterhorse Charters and Marissa Charters...there may be more? Both seem to get good TripAdvisor reviews. Does anyone have any input of these or other...

    Better diving after pandemic?

I just returned on Monday and the place is shutting down most venues...who knows how long. DiveFriends, BuddyDive and Capt Don's were still diving but obviously this will change with demand. The most notable comment was that most Islanders are happy about the stoppage of cruise ships.

    Basic Lake Tahoe Diving Questions

My 2 cents worth... Yes there is a dive shop in South South on the Nevada side...but I'd call them for their off-season hours??? You should expect 50-52 water temps at that time. Naturally, decreasing temps with depth/thermocline. Dive sites... * Emerald Bay is great but it is boat access...

    Lake Tahoe - Alley Cat

I'm planning a cold water training dive in Lake Tahoe and would like to find the Alley Cat, a sunken sailboat in Hurricane Bay on the California side. Supposed to be in 60-70 feet of water. Does anyone have info on compass points and landmarks in order to find it? Thanks, Jim Pacific Ocean...

    Lionfish-Where's Florida's Best Hunting?

I'm starting to plan a trip for some west coast divers for a Lionfish hunt...Can anyone point me to the best location and time of year? Pensacola or Islamorada both look good but there might be others??? Feel free to plug your favorite dive charter as well. Thanks, Jim
