    Best Deco Planners for Android?

Hey all, I know there's a few past threads on this topic but they all often center on options for IPhones. Other than Multi-Deco, I was curious if there were other apps out there that you would recommend or recommend to stay away from for android. Also, I downloaded a free app, TechDeco, does...

Should I wear a snorkel or not

Is that what they call it these days?

    Hog D1X + Classic 2.O Questions

I'm looking to buy a deco reg and had a couple questions about the Hog D1X 1st stage along with the Classic 2.0 second stage. 1. Are these regs ok to be used with 100% O2 out of the box? 2. I can't find green purge covers (for deco) for the Classic 2.0 second stage but have found a couple of...

Great and entertaining article on the use of dorkels!

    Light back gas deco

I'm curious, why don't you trust the practice/theory of accelerated deco using rich oxygen mixes? It's been used successfully for at least the last 50+ years and I'm sure longer than that.

Should I wear a snorkel or not

Have you ever needed to use it having not planned to do so prior to the dive?

Should I wear a snorkel or not

Never use one. I use a long hose setup and it interferes with it's deployment. I also don't really see much point in using one. I guess if the seas are super bad and the boat leaves without me it might be useful but I'm not going to dive in anything over six feet and I'd much prefer 2-4 feet...

what sidemount tanks do you dive with?

I use Faber LP108s. They're pretty big but it's what I had. I don't seem to have much of a problem diving them, but I've not tried any other size tank.

I had a close encounter with a basalt wall and snapped off the hose to my primary

The one I linked is fixed at 90 degrees and connects between the end of any LP reg hose and the second stage. The swivel allows the reg to spin but doesn't change the angle of the fitting.

Been out of the loop for 4 years what is the situation with Carbon Fiber Tanks?

Why would you want to wear more weight to counter balance a super buoyant tank? Makes no sense to me. Definitely a solution in search of a problem in my opinion.

    Another Shearwater question.

The problem with the Teric is the internal battery will wear out over time. With the Perdix you just replace the AA battery

    North Florida Cave Undergarments

I was fairly comfortable after 2 hrs in Jackson Blue (68F) with only a 200g undergarment. I've heard the recommendation 200g undergarment if swimming and 400g if scootering as a rule of thumb.

Primary for my future tec class

I believe UWLD did switch from an 8 degree hot spot to a 6 degree in the current generation. Should be better to signal with.

Why Backplate and Wing? - BP/Wing vs Jacket BC

Yeah, I dive a BP/W and don't have any difficulty maintaining vertical on the surface. If you lean back just a little initially, then the BP/W mostly maintains that position.

Primary for my future tec class

You can widen it, but it won't maintain a hotspot in the middle, it'll just be an equal amount of light across that widened beam and it's not a super bright light to begin with if you take it out of the extremely focused spot mode. I guess a solution could be just to slightly widen the beam, but...
