It seems that even for meticulous people, the BCD operation gets little attention in the pre-dive checks. My BCD process:
-- Well before the dive, fully inflate BCD, make sure overpressure valve opens properly
-- Make sure overpressure valve closes properly
-- BCD now fully inflated and holding...

Hard to tell, from your write up.
Seems like you are saying water leaks into the the suit...
not air from the inflater..... is that correct?
Water should not be in the hoses... so no need to check that...
Only place it can leak is at the valve to suit connection.
Are you sure its leaking...
it sounds like a leak coming from the front. could be neck seal, chest inflator valve, or even front chest zip. if you have one of the sitech neck rings, double check the seal is seated correctly.
hi all and thank you for reading.
i've found a source of air leaks from my OMS 32 lbs wing - several mini cuts of the same length close to each other, and there is another on on the other side (same area of the wing, just opposite side). Not 100% sure how it happened as the shell has no visible...
In my books hoses should last longer than 4 years, unless your diving every day, and they get alot of sun, or something,
But there is trash out there,
Hard to tell in the picture, but I suspect the quick connect oring,
Quick test,
- uncouple it off the power inflator, -- does it stop...
Hi,
I conducted a drysuit leak test on my DUI Yukon II drysuit. I did the test with the drysuit right-side out and filled via the drysuit inflator. I clipped the dry gloves on. I sealed the neck with a small plastic bucket and reinforced with electrical Tape. I closed the dump valve completely...
Thx for your info - what are you using for a separate connector through the suit? I would still like to use my heated vest/gloves on longer dives but do not trust my 303.
I have a Seaskin Nova, and have put about 20 dives on it. It has leaked to varying degrees on every dive. I make sure the zipper is closed completely and that my neck seal and dry gloves are seated correctly. I have disassembled and cleaned the dump and inflator valves. I have done several leak...
One problem is,
most inflators have the pressure, so it try's to open the valve, the spring is pushing back against the seat surface area of the spool, and keeping it shut.
So several things could be the problem.
Too high intermediate pressure,
Sticky orings and dirt (as mentioned)
Bad...
I agree some bad advice. The doctor previously indicated that tank air may be required in an emergency on the surface to inflate the BC. This is very bad thinking in an emergency and he has corrected the statement.
It is critical that you plan for oral inflation at the surface of the BC in an...
You could turn the suit inside out then seal the neck and wrist seals with whatever jug, bottle or ball you have on hand that creates a good seal. You don't need a tank and reg inside the suit. Just put as much air in a wrist before you seal it and kneel on the suit or roll up the legs to create...
DUI Drysuit for sale as I needed a bigger drysuit. No Leaks; has about 300 dives on it.
