Just as I leave for some lobster hunting, this was on the news.
No dive flag could be seen in the video.

Martin County: Missing divers found about four miles off shore

MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — The Martin County Sheriff's Office Air 1 was able to locate two missing divers late Saturday.

The sheriff's office says Air 1 was called out after the boat captain that dropped off the two divers said he was not able to find them.

MCSO Marine Units and Air 1 eventually located the missing divers about 1.5 miles south of where the boat was.

Both divers were checked for injuries, found to be unhurt and were then escorted to the docks.

I am glad they were found . Looks the one handed up a 6' spear gun with his safety sausage .
All who are venturing out for lobster this week be safe !

oh boy...glad all is good.....out of curiosity...do they charge for that or do they call it practice?

From what I've read on one of the diver's Facebook page is that currents were strong causing them to surface 1.5 miles from the boat. Due to the 5 ft swells, the boat could not see their safety sausages.

Spearguns and lobstering are mutually exclusive. Do NOT be caught with both. But I get your point.

Huh? that's not true. You can absolutely spearhunt and lobster hunt at the same time in FL. You just can't spear the lobster

You are asking for a hassle if you do. Just saying.

You are absolutely correct. If you are stopped and boarded it is very easy for the FWC to identify speared lobsters. They have no trouble at all with hunters as long as they follow the law.

Been boarded dozens of times by CG and FWC. They never even batted an eye on the fact we had spearguns and lobsters all over the boat. Bahamas is a different situation...
