Hello to everyone.
I made my sidemount course in 2017.
It was only in 2021 that I could afford to purchase a Razor 2.5
Since then, I have dived around 50 dives, but I always find that the harness is not very well positioned in relation to my body.

Above, how the harness currently looks like.
Position 1 is how I am being able to get it, position 2 is what I think it would be better in terms of position for the 3 main components.
So basically lowering the Delta Shoulder Plate, Lowering the Mini Back Plate, Lowering the Bungee Triglide.
What do you think of those modifications?
To proceed with those modifications do I have to dismantle the whole harness? Or is there a way how to move the components without having to dismantle everything?

I dive in warm waters, 5mm, alu tanks.

Thank you very much for your help and time.

Pentagon plate needs to drop to just below your C7, Bungee plate needs to be lower so it aligns with your armpits, and your lower-back plate needs to align with your sacrum around your S2 vertebrae.

There's a lot of work to be done, your initial marks are fairly accurate, you need to move them all down as you have shown. You will have to dismantle most everything to make this happen correctly, or at least take apart the spine strap.

You rock man (or girl !) Thanks for this, it is exactly what I was looking as a comment, it gives me the slightly push that I needed to dismantle and remantle.. :D THANKS

There is an online class on the GoSidemount website that you can use to put this together yourself more accurately. But be aware that the website's host is very slow and navigating the website page by page can feel like it's 1995 again.

Gee you were an early adopter although I must say I was using a terminal, about 1983

So for the next time people save money not doing a course to build your own harness

And for dives

Patience and only small adjistments one at a time helps divers that try help themselves

Dude actually dives out of your screen, and has the courtesy to show you how to get it

Not if you are looking at a phone, as when you finish you won't have the vision, to dive

As is said above, it's too far up. It also seems to be very tight. I am not familiar with the Razor harness, but I wonder if you need it that tight, given the balanced nature of sidemount. Make a change and perform a test dive, perhaps in front of an action camera.

1) Upper plate needs to be about 2in lower.
2) Lower plate needs to be justnabove your pockets.
3) Bring but D-ring a to about 2 in below Lower plate and use the provided bungee in the kit and make the gap only 1 in when not wearing. This should create a small fold in the webbing. This is where some of the "growth" of the back strap comes from so you can bend over and put on fins.

4) lock the lower plate down with additional triglides. The lower plate sometimes has a tendency to slide up and down.

And soon you too will be diving like this

Magnificent!

I would like to play like this too
