Agreed. At 20 feet the NDL is essentially unbounded. What you need is an SPG that is easy to read; you will run out of gas long before you run out of NDL.You don’t really need a computer for this.

For sure, it’s not necessary, but I want to wear one anyway. You don’t really need a computer for this.
And your Shearwater won't suffice? For sure, it’s not necessary, but I want to wear one anyway.
I’m often shoving my hands deep into various types of sediment, which would be hard on a wrist mounted computer. And your Shearwater won't suffice?
This is related to what I was going to ask you just before you posted this - what model Shearwater is it? Because if it is something like the wristwatch style Teric I wouldn't want to abuse it doing that kind of digging for relics in a riverbed either.I’m often shoving my hands deep into various types of sediment, which would be hard on a wrist mounted computer.
Does any mfg still make a console depth gauge bottom timer any more? I had one 30 years ago. ScubaPro has a digital wrist version. You don’t really need a computer for this.
If they do I don’t know how I would know, total lack of interest on my part. It seems as though the op is not looking for optionsDoes any mfg still make a console depth gauge bottom timer any more? I had one 30 years ago. ScubaPro has a digital wrist version.
For the OP my suggestion would to figure out how to clip off your Shearwater so that it is on your BCD shoulder strap. I use a bungie system so could easy use a double ender to clip it off. The SPG compass could still in a console.
Ahhh, new info. Thanks, makes sense. Which Shearwater do you have? Console mounts are available for some....I’m often shoving my hands deep into various types of sediment, which would be hard on a wrist mounted computer.
