Great trip report. We are busy finalizing arrangement with Avalon to arrange dive trips there from Canada. Solves many of the problems and concerns in the above replies.
Trip may be paid for to us by US or Canadian credit cards. We take care of ALL expenditures in Cuba. This makes it legal for US citizens to go. They have to fly from Toronto, but it IS LEGAL TO VISIT, but not to spend money there. So all they have to do is pay us, and we pay all the expenses.
As to questions about best time of year. Winter has the best visability, but sharks are year round with February probably being the ideal month to go.

Finally, in promoting the destination, we are putting together a FAM trip for dive shop owners willing to work with us booking future trips. This trip will take place in Sept 2012.

Happy Diving
Bryan
