First time I've ever noticed this. I believe it is a Permit (although outside chance it is a Florida Pompano) hanging out with a school of Spadefish. Pretty sure it is a Permit. Is it in the witness protection program??? LOL

Can the local experts confirm if it is a Permit, or is it a Florida Pompano? Thoughts? If it is a Permit, it is a juvenile I would think. Permit and Florida Pompano Identification

(UPDATE: Reviewing Florida's identification article above in detail, now I'm thinking it may be a Florida Pompano. But regardless of Permit or Florida Pompano, it was still unusual. I've myself never noticed that before.)

I’m about 95% leaning to Pompano based on what I think I can see for color on their top side.

Great videos. The color balance is awesome. I don’t remember you having lights. Is it all post-processing? In any case they’re great.

Thanks!

No lights, just post-processing.

I heard another GWS was sighted in Jupiter on Thursday. Glad I missed it.

I was diving solo in 105 ft and had to bail after half a tank because the multiple bulls and lemons were just too friendly, and I didn't have the balls to shoot a decent fish, should I see it anyway.

I heard another GWS was sighted in Jupiter on Thursday.

On Friday, Kyalami’s Captain Mike guided, Captain Kayla stayed dry and ran the main deck and Captain Zack drove.

Captain Zack is top shelf. A crystal clear, positive communicator and very thorough, I’d bet a twinset of Trimix if RDML Schofield (USCG 7th District Commander) were an unannounced guest on the boat that he’d coin Zack for a job well done.

We dove Breakers and Dive-o-Rama on second drop.

Breakers yielded a mature LHT on the surface for an extended time before we splashed, a reefie, a nurse shark, a GG and a school of exactly 1.2 gazillion-million-jillion Grunts and then later a slighty smaller school of Atlantic spadefish.

Dive-o-Rama gave us a sleeping nurse, a longspined squirrelfish and several trunkfish (I think). I’m sure I saw more but nothing that really grabbed my attention.

I didn’t get my twinset filled in time so I had to run my ST rig. Criminally fun, ST configuration helps me get in touch with my inner ballerina.

Vis was fine. Dived in my 1mm suit and shivered a couple of times near the end.
