I did dry earlier in the year, but frankly, I'd rather be cold. I didn't enjoy the sensation, and controlling my buoyancy was absolutely a nightmare. I don't want to pay the money to get a specially fitted one (I used a rented one), because I don't get the chance to dive enough as it is. I wish I did like it more, and I have tons of respect for drysuit divers, but it just isn't really for me.

Dry is what, 3 dives? You need at least 10 to even start understanding how to use the suit.

I agree to this. While my drysuit is just lovely and above all me-shaped, I am still much more nimble with wetsuit despite having over 60 dry suit dives and less than half of that wet suit dives.

Out of curiosity - where did you rent a drysuit? Was it for a course? Are there dive centres or clubs that will rent/loan suits if you’re diving with them?

I’m visiting Korea in March and would like to get a few dives in (Busan, Jeju) but don’t fancy diving wet at that time of year if I can avoid it! (It won’t be a dedicated dive trip so I won’t be dragging over my gear and suit.)

Hey PoisonOrange,

There are some dive shops that will rent you dry suits. Try Busan Scuba (or on Facebook). They did have dry suits for rent and some English language services, although last time I dived with them was several years ago.

Also, other divers have referenced
for English services on Jeju. I have not dived with either of these, so you'd have to make contact before you go and see what the story is re dry suit rentals, sizes, and English instructor/guide options.

You could also check some of the other South Korea posts re dive shops with English and trip reviews of Jeju, etc.

Hope this helps!
