Thanks for the thread move mods, much better fit.

Now, it starts to be interesting. I would trade my Mk2 for this one if it really does the job. I don’t do tech diving anyway.

depth reading to only 40meters

Also: this is another win for Buhlmann over bubble models

Well, what's stopping Suunto creating an app for it? Or Aqualung? It's potentially a multi-model, multi-OS dive computer!

Huish owns Suunto and Oceanic, so they kind of already are.

But totally agree with you. Given the ambient pressure sensor is open to devs, I would expect to see apps that aren't subscription based. Paging Shearwater!

Huish owns the distribution rights to Suunto products in the US. Suunto is a Finnish subsidiary of a Chinese company.

Yes, the subscription model ends my interest in the watch.

Sorry I was not paying attention. Is the subscription model needed to get the dive computer to work? Or is it just a dive log storage facility?

If it is required to enable the dive computer to function, what happens if you forget to re-up the subscription until your LOB is way out of internet coverage?

If it is just a dive log storage feature then who really cares? I assume the watch should be capable of storing details of several hundred dives? And then downloading to subsurface...
