Found this "interesting" Sherwood octopus second stage and would like to know the name of it and how it was used as it has a small hose coming out of the LP hose inlet. Never have seen such an unusual Sherwood product.
Any image showing how it was used will be appreciated! Thanks.

It also acts as the BCD fill hose. You would need to donate your primary and use the octo for yourself.

Got it... thanks!

It's a Sherwood Shadow SRB3209.
Actually, together with the Minimus SRB3108 it had been pretty common in the early 90ties.
To me it's a substandard 2nd concerning the Cracking Effort and breathing comfort, but it's simple and reliable.
I wouldn't dive with it, there are better options, but I use a Minimus 2nd for my regulator testing equipment, don't want even to offer/sell it to another diver.
With the international implementation of the higher European CE Standards in '94-'96 that model was gone like many others of that era.

Thank you Axxel57 for the detailed information provided. And also for the assembly and maintenance guides!!!!!! By the way I find most interesting how a second stage was practically "adapted" for acting as an octopus and also as a BCD inflator, Seems that Sherwood liked the concept so much that they also "adapted" another second stage for the same purpose. Enclosed the photos. Again, thanks!

We have used them for 30 years. First the big version and then the smaller yellow one. Bulletproof and works well.

Yes, the way to approach the need is ingenious. Are you presently using it?
