I am going to Toronto for a few days next month and returning to the US. Where can I get the CoVid PCR or antigen test in downtown Toronto? The cost for foreigners? Do I need to make an appointment or can I just walk-in to the testing sites? How soon can I get the result? Thank you in advance.

I travel to Ontario from Minnesota every couple of weeks for work, the airport parking garage has a drive through rapid covid test site that costs ~$50 CAD and results within 30 minutes. Just make sure you schedule an appointment online ahead of time. The company is called Switch Health. I also get tested at any Shoppers drug mart location, just make sure to call ahead to the one nearest you and reserve an appointment, those cost ~$40 CAD with approximately the same wait time.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! THAT'S VERY HELPFUL🙏

Also don’t forget your proof of covid vaccine and passport when you arrive to either.
Lol, thanks for the reminder. Almost forgot my passport several years ago. Left it at home. Flew to another State for business and fly out the next morning to Canada. Thankfully I remembered about 24 hours before boarding the flight that I left the passport at home. My sister found it and shipped ASAP through a Delta flight courier same day service. Got it just in time with some few hours to spare!

@SleepySlipper FYI - Called Shoppers to make appointment for next month. The pharmacist told me that their online booking will be available starting tomorrow :)

@SleepySlipper - here's the link:

I just did it. Not too bad. The only thing I encountered that may need improvement is selecting the location. I am not sure if it is because I am using Mac /Safari browser and that page may work better on a Windows browser. I couldn't do a search on the site by zip code, where it asks "where are you going?". There's a map that accompanies it but I found it easier to just scroll through the list of locations and select my choice from there. It asked for a passport number after I clicked the box for travel.

This is for the rapid antigen test. It appears that the scheduling is different for the PCR test. FYI.

Odd that the scheduling is different, it is the same test kit. The only difference is that they swab both nasal passages for one over the other test. Glad it all worked out for you, safe travels!

@SleepySlipper Thank you again for the info. 🙏
It looks like they may be fixing the website so that PCR scheduling is included. I just checked on the PCR link and it is not available for view. Not bad for a launch day performance. The confirmation came promptly- to both email and mobile #.

This cannot possibly be correct. The PCR and the antigen tests are entirely different, NOT the same test kit at all. Maybe the same kinds of swabs, but from there on they are very different.
