One thing that I have been looking forward to doing in Raja Ampat is to open a Marine biology centre. It's no secret that 90% of our species in the marine world is located in Raja Ampat, and a lot of the species can be used for new medications, treatments, or therapy.

The basic lab would have a PCR machine, Florence microscope, and liquid handling machine. Are any scientists, doctors, engineers or divers interested in working together on this or providing their inputs?

This is just an example of how marine life can help us with COVID:

What expectations would you have for a diver? How would I help?

Max Ammer must have lots of contacts in this field. Active in Raja Ampat for more than 30 years.
Further, are you sure this is allowed within your business permits? Often you have to work together with an Indonesian University and get the permits first.

One thing we are trying to do is organize a species count in 2023 with a local university in the region. Having extra divers, join in, and document the count would be very helpful, because most of the people doing the count are volunteer students in marine biology.

Yes, will definitely get in touch with him on the next trip there. He approached us before 30 years ago.
