I ordered one, let's see if it arrives on Bonaire :)

Does it give you any commission?

If carrying one of these in a pocket, do you remove it and rinse it after every dive session? And hang to dry? Assuming you have not deployed it during the dive.

Doh...you're asking the wrong guy. I'm Mr. No maintenance
Well, the units are essentially no metal parts (except I guess a SS spring inside the value). I rinse after each dive event in my pocket shorts, I'm sure soaking would be better, and let it dry, often right inside the pocket of my shorts. I'm sure would be best to unfurl, rinse inside with fresh water, and left out to dry inflated, out of the direct sun to preserve the color. I just don't have time to do all that.
A quick rinse and drying rolled up, they last a handful of years for me. Usually, the valve fails (now they can be replaced, also on Aliexpress) or they develop a small hole from being bounced around the bottom of my gear carton. In both of these cases, I usually discard.

Thanks I'm just trying to get a feel for best practices. There are a couple of things I would like to carry in my BCD pockets but I'm wrestling with the added maintenance.

I find these do pretty well with near-zero maintenance, if you are pressed for time...

I carry a DSMB in my jacket pocket. Gets used maybe once every 10 outings. Stays in the pocket and gets dunked in fresh water with the jacket. If I’m diving again within 3 days then no fresh water, my kit stays wet in its box.

The color might run a little in the beginning after rinsing. I’ve seen pink and white SMBs for loan that started out red.

In my personal experience, this is more from sun bleaching, not color running...

Unfortunately, the aliexpress "create account" webpage flaked out on me. Instead of a captcha, there's a little slider bar that times out and resets before it registers that I completed the slide.

Were you on mobile/tablet? IME that slider has never worked on mobile/tablet, but works (and I hardly ever trigger it) on a desktop browser.

(FYI, in re. “mainstream”, Ali is the second largest etailer in the world.)
