I had a friend asking about different rebreathers who was torn between a rEvo and a Meg. I suggested he attend an upcoming try-dive and try breathing on each unit in all possible positions. When the facilitator asked him not to turn on his back on the rEvo because any moisture in the CL might damage the cells if they got wet he opted for the Meg.
If I lent my rEvo out for a try dive, unfortunately I would say the same thing. A lot of OC divers - new to rebreathers, take the dsv out of their mouth, because the are comfortable switching OC regs. Therefore there can be a buildup of water in the exhale lung, from trydivers doing this, the O2 cells are in the lower inhale lung, so its unlikely but possible to wet the cells, and the owner of the rEvo doesn't want to have to pay the $500 to replace the 5 cells. I would be surprised if the owner of the rEvo doesn't personally have a problem swimming his/her own rig on his/her back.
