What's the prediction for the beginning of September? Thinking of booking of Delta and doing the bag drag.

Week to week, everything is still trending up, just gradual though. Beginning of September is a long ways off.

There is no flattening, we still get about 1.7 new cases for every recovered, the statewide number is higher yet.

My guess is closed mid September but who knows what they’ll do when they run out of beds and doctors, yes we need to be open but....

Your fares do sucketh tho. Non-stop to & from Cozumel would be nice, but not for nearly $700! Non-stop to & from Cancun on Delta is around $400, but I can't say it's worth it, as you'd spend about $100 on local vans & ferries - less if you took buses to & from PDC, but I have to be offered great savings to go thru Cancun. It might be worth the hassle to try Jet Blue and renting a car in Fort Lauderdale for some sightseeing for a few hours with this $200 fare. I never flew the airline tho, so I don't know.

I can get to CUN for 34k miles and $84. 36k miles for comfort+.

Are any airlines flying from CUN to CZM? My wife despises the ferry.

Ah ha! That fact changes everything. First & foremost is keeping the wife happy. There are some little planes making the jump with tight luggage restrictions, but I don't know much about them.

From what I can see, there are only private flights between CUN and CZM. There's no way I'm getting on a packed AA flight to get to CZM. We will make sure we go during the day, and she has her peppermint tabs.

You may wish to try contacting Mayair who operates the CUN to CUN route. It does not look like they are updating their web site but you might shoot them an email to see if or when they operate. They may be another fatal covid casualty.
I noticed something interesting yesterday, due to the reduced schedule into Cancun the load factors were higher on the DFW to CUN flights than the DFW to Cozumel. Not sure if this is true on other carriers but perhaps someone who has done the bag drag in the last few days could chime in.

The only thing landing in CZM is AA, Sun Country, private flights and Interjet going to Mexico City. There's three private planes flying between CUN and CZM, but they appear to be private. Their tail letters are XA-COZ, XA-AHX, and XA-LEO. XA-COZ seems to be doing the most flights.

Maybe one of our pilot folks could tell us who they are.

I met a couple on the island last week that used this group, they do private charters from CUN to CZM. Home Page - Flights Holbox

Not cheap, he said they paid $400 per person for a one-way flight to CZM from CUN, but it also included ground transportation between terminals at CUN, and the flight leaves when you want it to, it's not scheduled service.

That must be round trip. I'm getting a price of $580 one way for up to three people under a total of 770 lbs (including luggage).
