Same diameter as the retainer, just measure it. It doesn't have to fit perfectly, it just can't be too big.

I have never tried this because I found 2 DIN retainers for my MK5s, and they are in fact 2mm longer than the others. So I would not call myself an expert on it at all.

Again!!
I couldn’t resist.... :)

The coating is not as good preserved as I was hoping, but still it's a cool collectors item, I'm happy! :D

Strange enough, the inside has a 109 valve, seems the Dutch Navy expected more problems with the S-Wing Poppet in Military Ops or they thought it’s still just good enough.

As I understand, that combination had been offered in Europe only 85’ and 86’…

I might be wrong, but also the brass seems to be a bit different.

Technically it's absolutely okay, but has been used heavily.

That coating is no chrome, and nobody should make the mistake and put it in acid based liquid (Ultra Sound) or clean it with alcohol.

The coating comes off immediately as far as I saw.

Still nice to have a reg (the BAs) that I even didn’t remember they existed…..

I remembered only the 109er Military version.

Diverspoint, I owe you…..

Italy Navy ordered these in 1980. 100 units were sold to consumers too. I had one in my hands in September 1980.
It was a MKV (MK5+109).

Can you post the photo of the DIN retainer flat on the table with a caliper showing its length?

As far as I know they could not use black chrome as it is too shiny. It would stand out too much on the surface and maybe underwater.

Maybe a change in chroming since has made it possible, but not then AFAIK. And for seals to stand out on a landing mission would be pretty bad.

Not sure what they did use though. The parts look pretty undamaged though, few dents that I can see.
