I was very cynic about it. It was a joke. I do not believe at all that Laurie had Covid-19. Not in Dec. 2019 in Mexico and not without scientific evidence.

Seriously??? I have five people in my immediate family who are terrified, justifiably so, of getting this “flu”. It symptoms are similar to the flu for most people but for anyone immune compromised the symptoms are MUCH different and for all of them in my family almost certainly fatal.
Thankfully the public health doctor responsible for this in my area (British Columbia Canada) knows what the hell she is doing and has managed to make this a public health matter not a political one.
Far too many people are believing whatever spin their political leaders are putting on this and ignoring science and health professionals. Or even worse substituting their own opinion for experts.
Just the flu - seriously??? Do some research and read about all the deniers of the Spanish Flu and what happened on the second wave and then tell me we should all ignore this and proceed as normal.

Some people learn the hard way.
It looks like things are back to normal here. I went to a local Mexican restaurant yesterday for take out order. Usually I had to stay in the car and the waiter would bring me my food order. This time, no one outside & parking lot was full of cars. Inside the restaurant was packed with people. Only one waiter wore mask. I didn’t see any of the customers wore mask. I picked up my order & got out of the place quickly. We’ll see in a few days if I get sick (fingers crossed).

No one said it is a boogie man virus, however 100k deaths in the US over 6 months speaks for itself. Anecdotally I personally know of 3 deaths and one was 35 years old and otherwise healthy. The other 2 were younger than 60.

If you read my post & all my past posts, I NEVER said it was just the flu.
And by the way the flu is far more deadlier than any other coronaviruses in history,...you should really look into that because it is fact

See what terrifying does for the health of vulnerable people
We cannot know yet how deadly it is and will be. We do not have the data and in many countries it is just starting. Please correct me if you have any scientific source for this statement.

Is there anything I've said that has been contradictory to the Canadian government's official public health advice?... I think not, because from the start of this "pandemic" I looked at Canada's, Australia's, UK's & USA's official public health websites and their advice on Coronavirus, and all their advice pretty much mirrored each other and stayed the same to present time. I don't believe everything I see on TV and people's attitudes to false facts and statistics...I looked at the real facts.
So yeah, I think you probably should do some research, because compared to other viruses and diseases, covid-19 is nowhere near as deadly as others
