He was fine and comfortable to descend and breathe the 80%, ...

Hey, I wasn't there and can only opine on what was written, that in less than 2 min the dude chewed off the mouth piece and the OP labels him as (quote) "panicked diver". Now you are saying the guy was perfect and all was good. Still begs the question why a calm diver would suddenly chew off a mouth piece in less than 2 min?

Whatever, sounds like a fun dive.....glad I wasn't there. :)

"panicked diver"

My mistake in referring to the diver as such. When they surfaced after the attempt to donate the 80% he was not panicked.

Diving in this part of the world has its risks, it's third world,

Sounds like a Saudi dive.

Diving in this part of the world has its risks, it's third world,

Two very cogent descriptions I’ve heard of the wealthier countries in the Middle East:

“First world money, third world problem-solving.”

“Over-resourced and under-talented.”

I wish I had come across those apt descriptions before committing to years of cultural studies and formal language training.

Sure you can, but it aint O2. I've never read anywhere, in any first aid or medical journal, where they will recommend 80% at the surface for any diving related problem.

And if you actually read my post, I never said you couldnt, merely, "O2 is always a better option" on the surface. Do you disagree with that?

Actually in diving accidents getting the victim on the "gas with the highest oxygen content" is in most if not all training materials. Not everyone has pure O2 and often they will put someone on the richest Nitrox available.

Oh this thread...there are some real characters diving in this country. I am never shocked by the crazy stuff I see.

@Searcaigh please do not make a thread about the upcoming tug boat trip. I prefer to be ridiculed in person rather than online.

Let no good deed go unpunished lol

We'll be towing you behind the boat in an inflatable pink flamingo ring to maintain social distancing :rofl3:
