So, I know this thread is old, but I'm looking for a new screen protector for my perdix...I looked at dgx, and Amazon... But both products have reviews saying the product is terrible and cheap, and makes the screen hard to read... So, does anyone have experience other than sending the unit back to shearwater with replacement screen protectors?

Have you tried asking SW to send you a new one or two? I'm not sure how hard it is to get the old ones off, but I can't imagine it's rocket science.

I got mine from Diveseekers, I believe?

It’s just a clear film with a pressure sensitive pressure adhesive on the back side. I was worried when I first applied it as it looked like crap (like the pics on Amazon review). I was thinking I should have just left the old one with the minor scuffs on.

However, once I dove with it for the first time, it looked like new - the pressure at depth squeezed out all of the air bubbles and haze and it looked great.

I haven't, I figured I would look / ask around prior to doing something like that...

Love my Perdix AI

but I can't imagine it's rocket science.

Maybe more like brain surgery then?

Apply a soapy water to the screen before applying. same as putting screen protectors on a phone or window tints

Actually no real need - I applied mine dry and found that the first time you dive it to depth it will get “squeegeed” and clear out any bubbles/haziness. But no harm with your approach as you’ll likely get better pre-dive results!

Man, now I need to run upstairs and see if I took mine off like I think I did or if it is still on the unit. If it is, sweet because it has a few scratches I would like to get rid of.

Let me also fanboy for a second. As a scuba instructor, I do not make much. I spent almost an entire month's salary on mine with a transmitter when we became a dealer for them at the old DC I worked at. I knew I wanted one but it was very hard to pull the trigger knowing how much I was spending. I do not regret it at all and have never had any regrets. The minute I got it into the water, I was in love. The UI is the best I have seen and it works flawlessly. Hands down the best piece of gear I have ever bought and will likely remain that way.

I have to agree with the above post. I have owned a total of 4 dive computers (aqualung i300, aqualung i300c, Suunto eon core and shearwater Perdix ai). My i300c is my backup as it is a console mount. I like the Eon Core, but gave it to my wife. I however Love my Perdix.

Yep I’m a fanboy and not ashamed.
