Great video and editing. I just got my GoPro 8 and will be taking it to Kona next month to video a night dive with manta rays. Any suggested settings or tips to improve my videos. I have a SeaLife 2500 video light that I will be using with it.

Thanks!

I turn my light on before I turn my gopro on. I feel the Gopro's white balance works better.
Also, I generally don't run my light on at high power. Higher power tends to over expose the subject. I have 2 lights so I extend them out and point them in. I also reduce the EV by -.5 or -1

what do you have your video settings set at in the protune settings? white balance and iso min / max ? i had auto white balance at first and that was horrible switched to 6500K and it seems better but at least its constant through the video so when i do post edit everything looks the same mostly. my video is still hit or miss i dont have video lights at the moment just a can light so either i dont have enough light sometimes or too much. the woes of diving midwest lakes with less than stellar viz at times

I have the Hero 8 now so I have the ability to set up several custom setting and switch between them underwater.
My main setting are 2.7k/60fps (I have an older computer and it doesn't handle 4k editing well), Lens - Narrow (at night), Shutter - Auto, White Balance - 4500, ISO 100-400. (After 400 - I feel the gopro's get very grainy.)

I don't dive cold/green water much so my white balance would be slightly different. I find that when you keep the gopro in auto white balance you get a weird flickering issue.

I shot this video - in Massachusetts. The video is slightly shaky because I'm not really use to diving in cold water. But I did buy and use a magenta filter which I think helped a lot in bring out the color. (I was shooting on a gopro hero 6 during this trip). You can probably see the clips were I used lights and other clips were my lights weren't on and just the magenta filter.

Also, if you shoot in flat rather than gopro color you might be able to pull more color out in post production.

Hope this helps a bit.
