Was just about to ship mine in and the old saying "if it ain broke don't fix it" came to mind. Is there any reason not to do the recall? Mine is very old (came with the Vytec DS) and has the plastic base but never had a problem with it in over 10 years.
Any link problems of funny readings on the transmitters returned from the recall? Thanks a lot for your input.

It's free and it can only make it safer so why not?

I had it done to mine and it has been working flawlessly since.

When they service it they add another part that is supposed to minimize the pressure the POD gets internally and they also replace the plastic cover.

Thanks for the info, just trying to stay on the safe side so to speak. :)

The interior is examined for corrosion, the battery is changed, the cap is replaced to indicate the service is done, and a flow restrictor is added. Nothing unusual.

I've done about 100 since the recall. As @JackD342 says, it's a trivial change. You can also bring it in any SUUNTO service center (LDS) and they can do it in-store. Takes 30 minutes.

Needs to be a service center, not just an authorized dealer.

Curious: What part of “Suunto Service Center” did I say wrong that needed correcting?

Why have I not heard about a transmitter recall now. I knew nothing about the depth gauge recall either until I saw it on this site.
