As the title says I want to pick up a few 1lb coated weights to use in trimming out. I found one source with ugly yellow ones. Are black coated weights that hot of an item that stores can’t keep them in stock? Does anyone have a good source?

Also I will add that if anyone knows were to get 1/2 lb weights I could use a few. Most say that 1/2lb increments are not needed as trimming to that level is hardly noticeable. That is true for an adult as the weight to mass ration is small. This is for my daughter who is small. She can dive with 2 lbs with a full wetsuit there is not much to work with. To get her trimmed I have to add a 1lb ankle weight to her tank valve. The tiny amounts make a noticeable difference to her. I would like to be able to work in smaller increments to put trim on her shoulder pads and still leave her some ditchable weight. Adding 2 x 1 lb weights to each of her straps will overweight her and put her head down trim. Has anyone else worked a solution to this for small kids?

Contact Dan's Dive Shop in St. Catharines Ontario...Matt carries one pound Sea Pearls shot packs...

They're cheap...and you can take advantage of your ''higher'' US dollar...

Just my opinion but soft weights are better than hard weights...easier on your BCD...will ''self mould to shape...less skin contact with raw lead...especially important with kids...quick and easy rinsing/drying...

Best...

Move cylinder fore or aft slightly to change balance. It doesn’t take much of a change to alter your trim drastically.

Another Canadian option. Amazon.ca carries them. Shipping will be higher but it’s CAD$0.75=USD$1.

Are you a slave to fashion? :wink: Why do you need them painted? My LDS has a pile of 1lb lead weights. If you are worried about handling exposed lead, just paint then clear coat the weights.

One Pound dive weights ?

Discarded tire weights ?
~~~~~~ or ~~~~~~
DIY weights ?
She has dump pockets and either will work on those. I don't know of any good way to attach a soft weight to the top of the shoulder strap.
Have you ever considered large boltsnap or 2? A flash light?
I have, and she has one, but she needs the weight higher up, like right up around the neck area, so something that I could clip right to the top of each shoulder strap works. I cant think of a good way to clip to lights up there that would be easy for her to use and put back as required.
This would be my quickest and simplest solution but I run into an issue. She has the Deep6 signature regs, and they stick out a good bit. When I try to shift her tank up she bangs the back of her head and doesn't like it.
An ankle weight works but if I have her get neutral and tell her to not move she rolls over, so I'd like to get that weight lower on her to prevent that. Rather than take a single 1lb off the tank and move down it would be great to have some quick clip 1/2 pounders I can just clip on to her straps unobtrusively where she needs them
I dont care too much about color but would prefer something a bit less "harsh" ill say. I did not want to have plain old exposed lead. I thought about painting but she is using my LDS weights which are painted and it is flaking off all over her gear so I was trying to avoid that as she has orange paint flecks all over I need to clean up now. Maybe I am being to picky.
