Years back when I worked on offshore oil platforms around South East Asia we had to complete a “HUET” (Helicopter Underwater Escape Training) course every two years. It was no biggie, in fact I found it to be fun but some people were terrified of it. One time in particular I was part of a training group in which every other individual was from India and they were clearly not comfortable with the idea of being anywhere near water, let alone being strapped in a helicopter similator that was dropped into a deep pool then capsized!
Then scene underwater inside the simulator was utter panic and chaos. Every time we did another drop I hunkered down in my seat and focused on protecting my head and relaxing until the maelstrom of thrashing failing arms and violently kicking legs ceased as the safety divers pulled the last of them out the windows- then I would depart.
I learned a lot from that session, if ever I was in a chopper going down and I had one of those guys sitting next to me I resolved I would king hit him on the way down and drag him out the chopper with me rather than let the prick drown us both!

Very sad. Condolences to the families.

One lesson to be learned, even from the limited info presented. Coming to the aid of a panicked/trouble diver can be a dangerous thing.
I wonder if they meant 120 feet deep? I cant imagine a group of divers at 360 feet depth???

Hell I just glossed right over that fact.

Surely you are correct.

I read "The group was in an area that was 120 meters deep" and presumed that referred to the bottom, but not necessarily to the depth of dives.
