I find this discussion enlightening, fascinating even. Area-specific protocols and logistics are interesting and nuanced. I never would have known the WPB-specific drift diving particulars without this pro/con discussion. Thanks for the insights!

Certainly different than my drift-diving experience, but nice to hear from the area divers on the baseline normalcy and expectations of diving the area.

The title should be changed to: How neophytes react to experienced divers doing diver stuff.

Love it. I’m going to retreat to my “safe space” now. :)

Delete this thread, it's not even remotely correct. Can't come in here bad mouthing a good company when you should be asking questions and learning a thing or two about diving.

Agreed!

Agreed! At the very least Little Deeper should be removed from the title.

We should start a poll. Delete entirely, or change the title (multiple appropriate options there).

Haven't used Little Deeper, but this my LDS.
I too found myself waiting for extraction 15-20 minutes at times in this area. Sometimes by my creation, sometimes not.
Curious OP, who is your 'usual charter'?

Funny how all the experts come out who weren't there and really have no idea about the conditions but I can tell you that the dive boat was miles away from the divers and that's not OK. There's a difference between waiting 20 minutes at the surface with the dive boat in the area aware of you and where you are and with the boat being a long ways off and flying in to come and get you after getting a call from another dive boat, especially up further north where the current is stronger. In Boynton or further south divers are typically dropped off in small groups further apart but further north in WPB it is not common to have dive groups far apart for this reason. Who knows how long it would have been or if they would have known where to find them without the call.

How did you know how far away they were? Did they give you their GPS coordinates?

Due to consensus in this thread I have taken the dive ops name out of the title but I maintain what I have said
