New to Illinois

Shameless plug: I am one of two people signed up for the Saturday afternoon (1:30 PM) dives with Double Action Dive Charters. The two wrecks will be the Wells Burt (depth: ~40') and the Straits of Mackinac (~60'), which would both seem suitable for newer divers.

We need four to make the boat go, and I would be happy to have anyone here join me.

It's 72ft to the top deck on the Mac. Not suitable for newer divers.

It depends if you’re a southern Illinoian or a northern. If you live more northern there’s a lot of lake dives and especially check out Haigh Quarry, it’s in Kankakee, IL. If you live in the southern part there’s a great LDS in Bloomington, Wild Country Outdoors and Midwest Scuba shop. All the people there are really nice. Hope I’m helpful!

IIRC, on the Mac it's about 45' deep where the mooring line attaches by the capstan, around 55'-60' on the deck, and 75' to the sand. The deepest I've seen on it was about 84' deep inside the bilge when the lake levels were high. It can be an advanced dive.
