I'd love to know people's preferences for routing of the line to their pee valve.

Ive just installed a Halcyon pee valve in my DUI suit and I used it for the first time yesterday. I haven't cut the norprene tube at all and it was perfect length for "up and over" (my undergarments are all two piece). It seemed to work well but I think I got some leakage, perhaps because the flow has to go up (sort of as I was horizontal at the time I peed) before going down.

To try "down and under/through", I will have to cut the tube and I wanted to know if people generally find that works better.

Thanks.

Up and over seems to work fine for me.

Up and over is super uncomfortable to me and I found I'd get kinks. For me keeping my junk down and in it's natural position made dealing with my pee valve much more comfortable and problem free. I have many undergarments including a bz400x, arctic, xerotherm, and no name 200 gram thinsulate. Every single one (minus the bz400 cuz it comes with cath holes in the legs) I took to the local seamstress and she made a "button hole" which is a reinforced hole. It's super cheap, quick, and holds up better than cutting your own holes. Routing down and natural takes a little more initial effort than routing up and over, but is light years better. Anybody that says otherwise hasn't routed down and natural position.

As for shortening your tubing, it's a non issue. The tube is just norprene and can be bought from McMaster Carr for cheap.

Some experimentation is needed to find what works best for you. I started with down and to the left and found if difficult to "flow". Then I moved it on my next suit to the right and it wasn't any better so I routed up and again still found it difficult to go. I eventually noticed my junk seemed to prefer laying more sideways while diving so I've found what works best for me is to route the hose up and loop around and come at me from the right side. Flows great now, no more pull offs, and comfortable.

Up and over. And always readjust once you put your harness on, and again when you get in the water. It's like anything else, sometimes it needs a shake once you get in.

Also a cave diver, so up and over so it doesn't interfere with my massive balls.

No, lots of divers I know have routed down and changed to up. Nothing "natural" about peeing down by the way, as quiet some men worldwide do pee sitting, which is also considered healthier by urologists.

This doesn't make sense. Standing or sitting, I always pee DOWN.
