My wetsuit shrank

Did my wetsuit shrink? Or did I just gain weight? Last time I wore it was in Dec 2017. Tried it on today and it felt really tight in the chest and arm area. The material used to feel soft and stretchy. It feels much harder now. It’s only 2-3 years old and worn on maybe just 30 dives. It’s a Henderson Thermaxx. Do suits really deteriorate this fast or I just got fat?

Depending how it was rinsed and dried, they stiffen up. Stiff they feel tighter. Takes a dive to get it back to normal.

...or step on a scale and remove all doubt. ; )

I have a new Xcel 3/2 Thermoflex Dive and the arms and legs are really tight, but I was told by Xcel that with use and wet, it would loosen up.

Yup....what everyone else said...maybe layoff the Poutine and Molsen too!!

I Love Poutine and Molsen...but I’ve been allergic to cheese and alcohol for quite some time now.

Try on some close-fitting clothes that you were able to wear in December and see how they fit.

There are other avenues to add to our bioprene. Luckily, I am not allergic to cheese (or lactose intolerant) but we do share a common allergy......alcohol. Cheers to knowing that we will be the only sober gals on a liveaboard together in the future.

It’s a well known fact that neoprene shrinks when stored in a closet.
