Lifeless diver pulled from north Queensland waters revived on jetty
A man has been left fighting for life in hospital after being pulled lifeless from the water off Hinchinbrook Island in north Queensland on Saturday morning.

Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman Kevin Morgan said the diver was pulled from the water without a pulse by people on a nearby boat about 9.45am.

The man's rescuers notified the coast guard who arranged for paramedics to meet the boat at Mission Beach jetty.

On the way back to land, people on the boat started CPR on the lifeless diver, who is believed to be 25 years old.

Upon arrival, paramedics continued trying to resuscitate the man until he regained a pulse.

The diver was then transferred onto the Rescue 510 Cairns helicopter and flown to Cairns Base Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

It is not known whether the man was with the people on the boat or if they just happened to spot him.

Sadly,it rarely does when it starts like that. But sometimes it does, which is why CPR when practical should still be performed.
