Why not in person go and check with a good instructor for bp/w? If you are closer to me I'd help you out for a beer or two and get it fitted correctly. I'm sure you can find someone

Relax, it isn't rocket surgery. As others have pointed out, there are lots of instructional videos out there. Probably the most common mistake people make is trying to make the shoulder straps too tight. They don't need to be, it's the crotch strap which will lock everything into place. I have two small weight pouches on the waist belt and two more on the top cam band so I can distribute the weight as I need to.

Hi @Streydog, how did you get 35% off? That’s awesome
I had read on this site that there was a Black Friday coupon code offering 25% off everything. I used Google advanced search for this site for a coupon code and found one for35% off, I searched for it again and couldn't find it.

So what is your recommendation on weight pouches? Neither of us want to have to wear a weight belt.

It depends on how much weight you need. There are quite a few of us on SB that love these. I have one on each side waist band and one on the upper camband for when I need to do a little trim adjustment.

The downside is having to get that one part serviced by a dealer while everything else we use can be serviced by us. She prefers the swiveling first stage by deep6 to the fixed Mikron first stage that she used before.
The Mikron second is very simple to service and kits often on ebay. Alternatively, Bryan at VDH @OWIC647 was able to get me the first stage kit and now sells them so may be able to do the same with the second stage kits.

Thanks @RayfromTX , thanks for your tips. I will definitely try the Aqualung comfobite mouthpieces and dive them in the pool. I'm really hoping I like the 84" hose setup too.

I was really hoping to get this kit all sorted out before I go on my trip to Coz later this month. I gotta hurry!

@Ioncloud9, did your girlfriend change her mouthpiece?
Seeya there. We arrive 12-24

When I switched over to a BP/W, I was concerned about ease of getting in and out of it. Specifically, my concerns were that I wanted to be able to easily loosen the straps and also to easily tighten the straps. There are a number of ways to do this, and several dealers offer solutions to this, but after talking to the guys at my LDS, we came up with a solution that worked really well for me (as always, YMMV) on a recent trip.

My solution is not a "DIR" or "Hogarthian" compliant solution. I threaded the webbing through the shoulders at the top of the plate as you would normally, but instead of then going to the openings in the bottom of the plate and out to the waist-band, I added some small side straps with a D-Ring. My main webbing goes through the D-Ring and then it is able to be pulled tight or loosened of easily.

I made the side pieces by taking a 12-18 inch length of webbing and threading it through the lower slots in the plate that the harness would normally go through. I have secured this webbing with a tri-glide. (Yes, I know I have introduced a potential failure point here.) When I threaded this side webbing on, I also threaded weight trim pockets on it as well.

I know that there are some DIR and Hogarthian purists who are lighting torches and gathering their pitchforks and screaming "Burn the witch" at me now, but the bottom line is that it works and is incredibly comfortable.
