Hi Couv,

in this thread I found confirmation of the partnumber that I found elsewhere, and it was confirmed again in the parts list on Frogkick. What a fantastic help is that site for schematics.

But as I mentioned before I am starting to doubt the sizes got the oring that was mentioned on the thread. I do not think Suunto uses a size oring that is so hard to obtain.

I keep looking.

I have been mucking about with an oring calculator https://oringcalculator.eriksgroup.com/# .
What I seem to be needing is orings of the 1.5mmx4.0mm.

I measured the size of the male end, which is 4.04mm, and the size of the female end is 3.97mm. I cannot measure the groove depth nor width as the space is too limited. I will assume that the cross section mentioned here Leaky Suunto Cobra Quick Disconnect is correct.

So I will order a pack of rings and see where I get.

It will take some time before they get to me in Mexico though, so I will let you know how it goes at some point, just not soon.

At Couv, the size oring for the K5168 is the odd size.

I found a manual for the Suunto quick release in which the sizes are mentioned.

The sizes for the respective rings and partnumbers are:
k5096 1.42mm x 1.52 mm is 003 standard size
k1042 9.25mm x 1.78 mm is 012 standard size
k5168 is 3.8mm x 1.5mm is not any standard size.

I found the manual with the sizes here: http://www.online-divestore.de/shop/Anleitung/schnellkupplung.pdf

When I put the measurements in the oring calculator for the oddball it is hard to get a correct size oring though, it is much easier with a 4mm ID oring.

So I am still going to order the 4mm and try.

I'm looking forward to your findings. Just in case it's a better fit, consider ordering a 3.5 at the same time as the 4.0 to save on the shipping and time.

I have this description for the O-R in question from a Suunto Manual. But I do not speak fluent O-R. Hope this helps.
Internal o-ring for QR male part (3.80x1.50 90shA) K5168
Myself I would like to know the same location O-R used in the Sherwood/Oceanic HPQD. Anyone?

Hello to all who were awaiting my experiences on this one, here we go.

I ordered both the 3.5x1.5mm and the 4.0x1.5mm. I decided to use the 4.0x1.5mm first, and it works. It was a bit of a nightmare to get the oring in, but after 15 times it went in and it works fine now.

Maybe a next time I will try the 3.5x1.5mm, to see if that is easier to get in and then if it will work as well.
