Try explaining that!!

they do have one or 2 on Grand Cayman according to pennycollector.com :dork2:

My daughter loves those things. If she sees one, we have to do it.

I think that these are my favorite travel mementos, I bought them at the museum store at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.

You can easily find Christmas ornaments in Egypt even though it is primarily a non-Christian county, but they have a long tradition of making beautiful glass objects. An ancient tradition really, I think that they actually invented glass - they certainly have enough sand around!

I usually only buy only one ornament on a trip but I got 4 in Egypt because they were so beautiful - and because I figured it would be a long time before I got back there!

But I was disappointed when I tried to hang them on the Christmas tree. They were so big and heavy and the purple color (very popular in Egypt) seemed to make the ornaments disappear against the dark green branches of the tree.

I finally decided to suspend them from the light fixture in my dining room. I love the way they look there and it reminds me of Egypt whenever I see them. I look forward to unpacking and hanging them every year during the holidays!

If you have a large mirror in the room would look nice hanging out in front of the mirror.

You mean you don't have to put the pennies on a train track and wait for the train?

Does it flatten your penny

I have those also, you are from Californa, have you had the pleasure of putting a penny on the track at Knotts berry farm...I still have 1 from way back then. the nannies prob dont let you do that now.

These end up embossed with the location like this: and are super easy memento, and dont take up too much room in your bag or at home.

Sorry I mis read your comment, you put your own penny in, choose the design then crank away, your penny gets elongated and embossed. Costs 50 cents, and the penny (or pence in england/ireland)

our last trip was still in the continental US, so I had the 4'x4' aluminum sculpture (hog fish), and a custom "sign" listing the dive sites we visited (made from old lobster traps, and hand painted) shipped home....

International?

lots of t-shirts, magnets, pictures/frames, small works of art....

regional spices, coffee (Jamaica), and whatever....

Well, whatever tickles my fancy, and won't result in me being pulled out of line and cavity searched....
