Hello, my name is Clayton. I am 19 and just got certified as a PADI open water diver this past weekend at dutch springs,PA. Just today I moved to Key West for school. I am anxious to get out and dive. Is there anyone on here from around here?

There is a Florida sub forum that would probably get better responses from local divers.

howdy and welcome from the southeast Florida area just north of you.....

Ahh, lucky to live in warm water locale! I didn't much like diving Key West, although you'll probably have fun diving the Vandenburg. Islamorada and Largo aren't far away, the diving there is much better. I'm sure you'll have no problem finding other divers, and the Florida board is definitely a great source for more info on the area.

I'm moving to Fort Pierce in November, I'm a brand new diver and need buddies! Also any recommended shops/tours I can go on Thanks!

The best diving in winter, will be a medium drive south, to Jupiter or West Palm Beach, 'cause the warm Gulf Stream water is close to shore there, it tends to bend offshore towards the east above, say, Stuart, as the coastline bends in toward the west, so it would be a good bit colder up in Ft Pierce. Nice during summer, though.

For shops, I have liked Pura Vida in West Palm, and for a little more advanced dive, Jupiter Dive center.

Thank you so much! That helps a lot!
