You forgot to mention that you'd be online 24/7/365 to keep them in check and clean up after them.

'cause I won't. And I suspect that not many others in the mod corps will, either. Some of us have a life.
I don't think any of them are really that bad...

There are only a few people I feel need a whack with the Ban Hammer. And that would mostly just be from the particular thread they're disrupting not from any particular forum or the entire board. Of course there are always special cases...

:)

Since we are giving personal tolerances, I vote no banning unless the offense in some way endangers another. I love a spirited debate. This of course excludes the no flame zones such as Basic.

After all, isn't there an ignore button?

Sure, there is an ignore scuba board button. Debate I like. Debate is not insulting, name calling, etc etc. Note of those endanger anybody but I have too much of that BS forced on me by the nightly news. I come to SB not to have to hear that stuff.

Of course I don't read all of SB but in the 5 years I have been fairly active on SB I have seen less then a hand full of posts that I thought deserved banning. Probably more like one or two. My greater irritation is for the threads that are good threads that get hijacked with endless, meaningless ramblings. But that is not on the ToS. And those posters I don't want to ban but just hit and "easy button" and wipeout the posts and the poster gets a jolt through his keyboard/screen everytime he tries to repost. Now that would be entertaining. :rofl3:

Nor self-serving.

I think that I see about four time (and nerve) sucking groups that the mods are forced to mud-wrestle with. Wiseguys/gals, People pushing another agenda (usually buy from ME), Narcissists, seditionists, and the loyal opposition.

Please be aware that the Loyal Opposition has your (and our collective) interests at heart. We readily speak up, but also know how to "sit and mind". This is a community.

The simple fact that this thread has gone from public to private, but has not been squashed is beyond stellar. Kudos to you mods who did not take the easy out while the cat was away...

What in this thread makes you think it would have been "squashed"?

Look closely. I'm not a "you guys"
